STRATHKINNESS COMMUNITY COUNCIL

 

Minutes of meeting held at 7.30pm on Tuesday,4th May 2010 in the Village School.

 

Present:- Mrs.Mudie[Chair], Mrs.Scott, Slack and Walker. Messrs.Baxter, D’Angelis,Duncan and Inverarity. Fife Councillors  D. Morrison & F.Melville.

 

Apologies:- Mr. Younger. Miss. Mitchell.

 

Minutes of the last meeting:- Read and approved.

 

Matters arising:-

Floral Display Group:-  The secretary reported that a very successful coffee morning had raised £820, further generous donations had brought the fundraising total to £1300. The school children had planted over 3000 snowdrop bulbs throughout the village. The Group were very grateful to all who had assisted in organising the event and to the many villagers who had attended and contributed to the success of the event. Plans for the summer planting programme are in

hand. The next meeting of the Group would be on Wed. 26th May at  7pm in the Church Hall.

Magus Muir:-  No further information to date. A letter from Mr. David Philpott, highlighting the lack of waste disposal bins at the location, was noted and the Councillor Melville would follow up the matter.

Strathkinness Traffic Calming:-  No further information to date. Councillor Melville is to see if any information is forthcoming..

Community Policing:-  Police speed trapping continues throughout the village.

High Road Path:-  No further information available to date. Councillor Melville is to arrange for Mr. Phil.Clarke of Fife Council to attend the next meeting to discuss the matter.

Dog-fouling:-  Mrs. Walker confirmed that leaflets regarding dog-fouling and the possible health hazards to children had been distributed throughout the village. Thanks were due to all who had assisted in the project.

Fife Constabulary:- Mrs. Mudie reported that she had attended the launch event of the North East Fife Policing Plan at Cupar.

 

Correspondence.

 

Headon Developments:- Mr. Headon had written to advise the Council that due to the continuing uncertainty in the housing market the development in the centre of the village would be postponed . An application to increase the number of houses from 30 to 32 had been submitted.

Fife Council- Transportation-Notification of proposal to introduce a 20 mph speed limit in Kincaple.

Fife Council- Community Services- Notice of Fife Access Seminar to be held in the Rothes Halls , Glenrothes on 10th June 2010.

Fife Council- Community Services- Letter outlining Fife Council position on BT proposal to sell off phone boxes in Fife. Fife council object to the plans to remove the telephony sevice from the kiosks in question and also decline the invitation to adopt the boxes.

Fife Council-Development Services- Notification of planning approval for alterations at Little Row, Kincaple and at 13 Drumcarrow Crescent, Strathkinness.

Public Notice Board- Mrs. Slack expressed the view that the village was in need of a public notice board. It was agreed to investigate the matter. Councillors Melville and Morrison said they would see what assistance might be available from Fife Council.

Green Belt Forum-  Mrs. Mudie confirmed as Council representative on the Forum.

Weed Control-  A query had been received regarding the ground maintenance of the electricity sub-stations in the village. The secretary said he would try and clarify the matter.

 

Condolences.

 

Mrs. Mudie reported that two well known members of the community, Mrs. Muriel Sked, Main Street and Mr. Sandy Macintosh, Mount Melville Crescent, had recently passed away. They will be greatly missed by their many friends in the community, and the condolences of the Community Council are extended to their families.
